Nurturing Oneself During Lockdown - A student's Perspective - By Tamanna Udasi

In our personal lives, and on a global scale, we face problems that act as the challenges and test our patience and emotional mettle — injury, illness, unemployment, grief, or even a new venture with an unknown future. But many of them are such that engulfs not only a few but each and every one. As right now we all are facing one of the worst ever public health crisis in recent history in the form of the Covid-19. The China-born microbe that inflicts infectious respiratory illness, brings the world to its knees. The pandemic is still unraveling and spreading rapidly. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, many countries have been affected. We are facing emergency lockdowns to prevent the further spread of the disease. Schools, colleges, malls, theatres, and much more have been shut. People in underprivileged communities are facing shortages of food, medicines, masks, and dry rations. If we don’t act fast, things may spiral out of control and we may face a crisis like Iran and Italy where the entire healthcare system is overwhelmed due to the disease. There is no such problem in the world that we all cannot face together. We all have to fight together to defeat coronavirus. And for that, we have to follow some measures that can be taken to curb the spread of the deadly virus. We can stay safe by following preventive measures such as social distancing, maintaining proper hygiene, and by spreading awareness about the virus. And as we all are aware that our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji has directed to maintain social distancing because social distancing is vital to control the spread of Covid-19 and we should all absolutely follow this. Keep yourself in self-quarantine by staying in. Although staying in is not bad at all. But what's there to do while stuck indoors? Well, I've compiled some suggestions to help you to make your quarantine time as interesting as mine. Same as me you can still have fun by living your childhood again by watching old shows on DD1 or online, playing indoor games with your loving family, cooking something delicious for family, reading interesting books, you can also give some time to your body for the exercise to keep yourself healthy and can do many other productive things. As of now, the most efficient way to prevent coronavirus is by avoiding exposure to it. If we follow all the necessary steps religiously, we can prevent the spread of this deadly virus. It's ok if this pandemic has come to us but we have to fight firmly with this. Every affected country is fighting this pandemic. And we Indians also all have to curb Covid-19 together. I request you all again to keep yourself safe and help others as well by following the required steps.
